Please ensure you do not have any third-party repairs done without authorization as you will run the risk of voiding your warranty coverage, and you will not be reimbursed. If you experience a problem with your trailer, please follow the steps below to ensure that your claim can be reviewed quickly.

Warranty Procedure

1. Please complete the Warranty Form with your Contact & Trailer Info, Photos of the problem and a Brief Explanation of the issue. The Make/Model/Year/Serial Number of your trailer are all listed on your Sales Invoice you were provided with your purchase. If it is an axle or brake related issue that you are having, you will be required to provide the serial number on the axle. This can be found on a white sticker on the top or back of the axle. If your sticker has worn off, there is a number engraved in the centre on the rear of the axle beam that consists of 9 digits.

2. Call Work & Play to report the issue you are having if you are unable to complete the Warranty Form. Work & Play will then report the problem to the manufacturer and determine if the issue falls within Warranty.

3. If the issue is deemed to be a warranty item, you may be required to bring your trailer back to Work & Play for repair. Work & Play is an authorized repair facility and most manufacturers do not authorize 3rd party repairs.

4. If approved, warranty may be completed by qualified technicians at a shop located closer to you, however, in order to complete work at another location the following must be done FIRST.

a) Complete Steps 1 or 2 above

b) Have a Quote/Estimate completed by a qualified technician and submitted to Work & Play by email: warranty@workandplay.ca 
(note: Shop rates should be close to our hourly rate of $130/hour RV and $110/hour on All Other Models in order to be approved)

c) Wait to hear from Work & Play for authorization to be given.

Work & Play is not responsible for transportation costs, fuel, mileage, or loss of time costs due to warranty issues. These expenses are not covered under any trailer manufacturer warranty. It is the customer’s responsibility to either return the trailer for warranty repair to our dealership OR to an approved repair facility within a timely fashion of reporting the issue.

No repairs are to be made until approval is given by Work & Play.

Items excluded from Warranty by all Manufacturers:

*Any damage caused from lack of completed routine maintenance.
*Any damage caused by misuse.
*Any defacing: scratches, dents, stone chips, etc.
*Any damage caused by weather.
*Corrosion is NOT covered under warranty.
*Any damage caused by improper hookup.
*Any damage caused to the contents, regardless of the cause.
*Any damage caused by overloading the trailer above the specified payload.

Trailer Warranty is non-transferable. (NuCamp RV and InTech RV are the only exceptions)

Maintenance Information

The shop has torqued the tires on your trailer, however, you must retorque them after 100 kms on first trip.

Routine Maintenance is required so as not to void the warranty:

Check for proper torque on wheel nuts.

Grease bearings: every 5000 – 7000 kms.

Grease or lubricate tongue coupler.

Check tire pressure: specified on your tires.

Grease or lubricate hinges.

Check coupler nut for tightness. (if applicable)

Check brakes are functioning properly. (if applicable)

Check battery for a good charge (if applicable) and recharge with a battery charger when necessary.

Check safety chains for any damage. (replace if required)

Undercoat frame and tongue – recommended on a yearly basis depending on how much use the trailer gets (steel frame models)

Self Adjusting Brakes:

Unlike other vehicles or equipment with brakes, trailer brakes need to be burnished off upon first use in order to seat in properly. This must be completed before loading your trailer with any weight. This means once you pick up your trailer, it needs to be driven for approximately 300 km before the brakes will burnish off or self-adjust and begin to work properly. The brakes are initially set with very little stopping power and as you drive the brakes will start to automatically adjust to the correct amount. The brake shoe needs to burnish and seat to the hub. As the brake shoe starts to seat, the brake controller gain might need to be adjusted down. As the brake shoe starts to wear over time, the brakes will automatically adjust again. Periodically the trailer should be lifted, and tires spun to check all of your brakes on the trailer are working properly and possibly adjust brakes if required.
